I was a contractor at Falcorp Technologies from 2011 to September 2017 and was outsourced to their client, Telkom. I was responsible for user interface design, front-end design/development and sometimes graphic design.

UI Design
The Telkom Selfpay Portal was created for Telkom employees and the employees of corporates that benefit from special Telkom deals. I updated deals(monthly) and functionality on the portals based on the requirements from business units and campaigns.
The application was created using Bootstrap, xml and the handlebars javascript library. This project was a learning curve for me, as everything had to be done client-side and handlebars.js didn't come naturally to me as the rest of frontend design did. After completing this project, I started to shift more into UI & UX Design.
While I spent a large chunk of time on Telkom Business projects, I also worked on MyTelkom pages. These were self-service pages, behind login, for all Telkom users. Sometimes I designed and converted pages to HTML, other times just did the conversion to HTML from mockups designed by others.

In early 2012 I was assigned to the Telkom Business project called FMC Bundle Builder. The web application allowed Telkom Business users, who usually purchased in bulk, to navigate through Voice, Mobile, Equipment offerings, and build a basket to suit their business needs & budget. The incentive of using Bundle Builder was that it offered discounts based on selections or basket total. I was the sole designer on the project and was responsible for end to end design. Also, because it was 2012, design meant creating the UI as well as the functional HTML pages. Fun times with serious deadlines!
Tabs could have dozens of products, and in most cases, product pictures weren’t necessary. So I decided to use accordions, keeping the most relevant information on the accordion title, and additional information available after expansion. If the user required even more info, it link to the product specific page inside the accordion.
The design may be dated, and I'd do it completely different today, but this was a significant project in my career. I could not imagine designing and doing frontend development for a web application -on my own- today.
